About me

Cheng-Wei Yu, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Department of Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering, National Taiwan University

Dr. Yu’s research area has been focused on achieving a practical and numerically stable hydrodynamic simulation for large-scale river networks. Dr. Yu studies the optimal configuration of initial and boundary conditions in the Saint-Venant simulation to secure the numerical convergence of the simulation. He devotes himself to investigating the application of Saint-Venant simulation in various areas such as water level prediction, inundation mapping, and flood forecast.

Besides the research in hydrodynamic simulation, Dr. Yu also has experience in developing dynamic and static models for evaluating point and non-point source contamination transportation. He is a cross-discipline researcher who quantitively evaluates the interactions among environmental reactions, riverine behaviors, and hydrological components in catchments.
